I began weaving baskets in 1990. A willingness to share a special skill is what led me on the path to basket weaving. A friend in New Brunswick asked me to teach her home-schooled children Sign Language.  We traded skills: basket weaving for sign language.  Old Reed Baskets are vintage-inspired and reflect a simplistic design. Not to confuse simple with easy, each piece takes time. 

Basket weaving is an extremely satisfying and relaxing activity that allows for a free flow of creativity.  When you weave a basket, before you know it, you may find that you are ‘in the zone”. You become relaxed as your concentration is focused on the project on your lap. Your reward is the end product in the form of a beautiful handwoven basket.
